About Weldon Spring Trailhead
The U.S. Army used portions of the Weldon Spring Conservation Area for TNT and DNT production during the 1940s. In the 1960s, the Atomic Energy Commission processed uranium ore at Weldon Spring Conservation Area.
Off the Trail:
Visit the Weldon Spring Interpretive Center and the visitor center at the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area. The Hamburg Trail at milepost 56.7 leads guests to these two points of interest near the Katy Trail.
